We Serve

The Engineering Ambassador team strives to reach a broad population of individuals in the NC State community and beyond. From fostering an interest in STEM for young students to paving the way to student success for current engineering students, our Engineering Ambassador team seeks to shape their community into one that is well-supported and engaged. The team’s impact encompasses three areas: Recruitment, Outreach, and First-Year Engineering.

Recruiting Prospective Students

The Engineering Ambassador Team runs several events year-round to recruit high school students from around the nation to become a part of the NC State Engineering community. At these events, our Engineering Ambassador team demonstrates unique opportunities available at NC State, sharing their personal experiences as engineering students, and connecting with students one-on-one.

K-12 Outreach

Our Engineering Ambassador Team inspires an interest in STEM for young students through numerous STEM-focused outreach programs. Through these programs, our Engineering Ambassador team engages young students in the engineering design process, encourages creative problem solving, and fosters critical thinking skills. The team collaborates with the Engineering Place, NC State University’s K–20 education and resource headquarters for exploring engineering.

First-Year Engineering

Our Engineering Ambassador team promotes student success at NC State. Our team serves as Teaching Assistants for all sections of Introduction to Engineering and Problem Solving (E 101), Engineering in the 21st Century (E 102), and Engineering Transfer to Success (E 201). In this role, our Engineering Ambassador team assists first-year students with their transition to the university, challenges their problem-solving skills, and encourages them to seek high-impact activities.

Our Engineering Ambassador team continuously promotes, develops, and initiates various programs for first-year engineering students to meet student needs, based on their firm belief that students are most successful when they are well-supported.
